CNY! :D

Today is the 9th day of the Lunar New year. Really still in CNY mood, thanks to the heavy mugging yesterday, and the knowledge of the quiz I studied really hard for being postponed to after recess week. So here's a overview of how my CNY went...

Chinese New Year this year felt quite different. This year, we welcome the arrival of another cousin! :) Hi En Jun!!! Though you can't really understand what's going on around you, but its the Chinese New Year!!! :) Next year, hopefully you will be like your sister, running around, saying and waving gong xi gong xi to us! XD It's been a long time since we last had new young members in my maternal side relatives. The youngest before them was my sister... :P That's indeed a loooooonggg time.

As usual, after our visit to my maternal side, we head to our paternal side. 1st a visit to grandma's house. The last few years, each year we went, she seems to be rounder. This year, she seems to have shrank alot. :( Age is indeed catching up on her. No worries grandma, you will live a ripe old age! :)

Everyone met at our big uncles house for dinner. We welcome back our cousin after graduating from NZ uni. Finally back in S'pore! Congrats! :) The atmosphere this year truely felt different. People have changed, so did I. :) Had a great chat with my cousin about her life in NUS and mine in NTU. Keke, seems like there are quite lots in common, here and there. :P

Subsequently, went to another cousins house, 2nd uncles house and as usual, my house last stop. :) The little cousins were relatively more well behaved this year, though I still had many rounds of hide and seek with them. It's indeed not easy playing hide and seek in my house... :P Okay, I admit, I lack exercise... :P Maybe my sis would have done a better job if she had joined in. :)

Everyone headed home around 12, and me and my family sat down to watch 200 pounds beauty. :) It's sad but nice. The moral behind the story is one which we can think about on many different levels. In fact, it would make a good essay topic. From society discrimination, plastic surgery. etc, etc... Oh, those GP days...

2nd day went to aunt's house for steamboat lunch, and then to my cousin's new condo. The place is relatively small, comparing it to 3/4 room HDB flats. The price is much higher, + maintenance fees etc... Hmm, I still feel that its more worthwhile to live in HDB flats. But frankly, the place there is quite nice. After which, my family visited the river hongbao, took some pictures, and actually, I really think nothing much to see. unlike those when we were young, where there were lots of stores, lots of people squeezing around, performances throughout the day, more shady. These days, not much people visit it anymore though the figures printed in the press still looks good. Really, a trip there and you will know, there are so little Singaporeans there these days.

Ooh, and after that we went to catch the show jin yi wei. Relatively nice, but after the whole show, you will come out and say, what a simple plot. :P My heart still craves for Percy Jackson and the lightning thief... :P

So the rest of the Chinese new year was more of back to studies, and occasional urge to just stone on the sofa, grab some tidbits and munch away instead of facing the piles of notes and quizzes...

I'm already looking forward to next year's new year. More house hopping and my baby cousin being on his way to learn to walk, run, talk etc!!! :)
